About Sugar Me Healthy
Sugar Me Healthy was created in Wellington, Florida, a community known worldwide for its equestrian culture. Each winter, riders, trainers, and horses travel to Wellington for major dressage, hunter, jumper, and polo competitions. During the busy season, traditional sugar cubes can become difficult to find locally because they are commonly used throughout the horse community as rewards and training tools.
After noticing this problem year after year, our founder decided to create a more thoughtful alternative. Sugar Me Healthy combines pure cane sugar with flaxseed to create a training aid designed to encourage better acceptance of the bit. Sugar cubes are often used as a simple reward because many horses enjoy their taste, making them useful during training, bridling, and other positive reinforcement routines.
Flaxseed was added to give the product something beyond ordinary sugar cubes. Flaxseed is a plant-based source of omega-3 fatty acids and is commonly included in equine diets to support a healthy coat, skin, and overall nutrition. It can also provide fiber and beneficial fats when incorporated appropriately into a horse’s feeding routine.
Our founder’s love for horses began when she received her first pony at four years old, and she has been riding ever since. Throughout her equestrian career, she has competed in barrel racing, jumping, eventing, and dressage, earning Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals, as well as Freestyle Bars. After achieving those honors, she earned the prestigious Diamond Award. Today, she owns and operates a 26-stall barn with indoor and outdoor riding arenas, where horses board, train, and prepare for competition both in and out of season.
Sugar Me Healthy grew from a lifelong love of horses and firsthand experience caring for them. Our goal is to create a simple and useful product that benefits not only the horses in our own barn, but also the many horses and riders who come through our community. Every cube is created with horses, riders, and better training experiences in mind.
